- Place the hulled and halved strawberries into the blender.
- Add the ice cubes to the blender, filling it up to the top for a chilled, icy texture.
- Pour in the vanilla extract and sprinkle the freshly grated lemon zest over the berries and ice.
- Secure the lid on the blender and start blending on low speed, gradually increasing to high until the mixture is smooth and frosty, about 30 seconds.
- Pause the blender and check the texture; it should be icy yet smooth. If it’s too thick, add a splash of water or lemon juice and blend briefly.
- Pour the chilled slushie into glasses, and if desired, garnish with extra lemon zest or a whole strawberry on the rim.
Notes
For an extra boost of flavor, add a splash of lemon juice or a few mint leaves before blending.
