  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large citrus zest from lemon or lime
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

  1. Chop the ripe tomatoes into small, even pieces and place them in a mixing bowl, releasing their fragrant scent. Add finely chopped red bell pepper, minced red onion, and the minced garlic to the bowl.
  2. Use a microplane or fine grater to zest lemon or lime over the mixture, then squeeze in the citrus juice for brightness. Stir gently to combine all the fresh ingredients and release their vibrant aromas.
  3. Chop the fresh cilantro finely and sprinkle it over the salsa, then add salt and freshly ground black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined and the salsa looks colorful and inviting.
